Author's Note: I'm apparently in a mean mood today. :-) Luckily, this is AU, so it would never happen to our beloved folks.


The three of them sat quietly at dinner. Casey hadn't said a word all night. In another place, in another time, Dana would have teased him mercilessly for this, the two of them sharing their verbal flirtation. But not now. Now, she barely recognized the man she'd always loved.

Sally's smile, on the other hand, was almost predatory.

"Dana," she started, feigning hesitation, "You know I don't have many friends. And it would be very important to us that you're a part of this."

Dana thought being asked to be Maid of Honor was supposed to be a happy thing.

Definitely a good thing. You managed the set up very well, and it was convincing enough to make me shudder. It's a compliment, jsut an odd one. *g*
