The thunder echoed louder as Jeremy's voice neared pleading. "Natalie, it's going to rain. And then it's going to rain some more. It's going to rain, I mean, a whole lot. And there's going to be wind. A lot of wind. There's going to be rain, and wind, and the houses blowing over or blowing down or blowing up. They don't need a weathergirl to tell them that. We need to leave, and we need to do it now. Galveston will be here when we get back."

Natalie's eyes filled with tears. "Well," she paused, "that's the question, isn't it?"
